About The Heavy Pumpkin

Hi, I’m Mary, the creator behind The Heavy Pumpkin! My journey here began after a long career in education serving as a teacher, elementary principal, and administrator before I started a new adventure in the corporate world in 2022. While it was the right move for my family, I soon felt a void in my life: I deeply missed the spark of creativity.

I longed to design resources that fostered learning, eased the daily load for families, and encouraged people to simply pause, laugh, and connect in the present. That desire sparked the birth of The Heavy Pumpkin.

What originated as a handful of concepts has blossomed into a curated selection of screen-free books and interactive activities for children, parents, and adults who remain young at heart. Our collections range from guides that help kids navigate new milestones to engaging puzzles for active days and nostalgic keepsakes that celebrate the iconic pop culture and memories of our youth.

I believe the briefest instances often become our most cherished memories.

Thank you for visiting The Heavy Pumpkin. I am so happy you are here!
